Corporate Profile
GES CANADA Exposition Services Limited (formerly Panex
Show Services) was founded in 1966, through a joint venture
of five partners. From the very beginning, GES CANADA
maintained a total commitment to quality equipment, skilled
personnel as well as superior technical and creative
services.
By all measures, GES CANADA was a success from the start – satisfied
customers, productive operations, and strong financial
growth.
Panex’s accomplishments caused Southam Communications
to become interested and in 1977 they began acquiring
control of the joint venture –eventually assuming
full ownership in 1980. As part of the Southam family
of companies, Panex's resources expanded and so too did
the client base.
In 1984, Tradeshow Week named Panex Show Services as
Canada’s # 1 Show Services Contractor for the first
time. Following that first recognition, Panex/GES CANADA
have been awarded this achievement every year since.
Panex Show Services was purchased from Southam by the
Dial Corporation (now known as Viad Corp.) in 1995. As
owners of GES Exposition Services – the largest
official services contractors in the U.S.A. – Viad recognized
the value and quality of Panex’s people, inventory,
and expertise. Panex is now known as GES CANADA Exposition
Services and operates as a Canadian Limited company,
reporting through GES to Viad.
The most important fact, through all this success and
recognition, is that our pledge has never changed. Today,
the shows are larger, we operate in eight Canadian cities,
we have sister operations in sixteen U.S. cities,
the pace is faster and the facilities are far superior,
but the commitment remains – Industry leadership
through respected, efficient, full service operations.
Our Mission Statement
We provide the most creative and innovative business
and learning environments where our clients successfully
market their products, ideas and services...today and
in the future.
